This week we have been reading the story 'The Tortoise & The Hare. Check out the Cbeebies link below to enjoy the story at home!
This week we are learning about ducks, chicks and feathers. This is the video we watched at school today. Can you think of any more questions you would like to ask about the hatching chicks?
We are planting seeds this week and reading 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Can you create some magic beans at home? Maybe you could retell the story to a grown up! If you can video/photograph yourself that would be fabulous! We can't wait to see how creative you can be...
We had a fantastic day at Brackenhurst den building, seed planting and lots of walking We were all shattered at the end of that day. thank you to all the helping parents and reserves - we could not have done it without you!
Welcome back to the second half of the spring term. It's an exciting week!
On Tuesday we are off to Brackenhurst to begin our topic for this term. Please remember to wrap up warm as we will be outside for most of the day! It was quite muddy when we visited before the holidays so please make sure you have some wellies.
On Friday we will be celebrating Chinese New Year!
This week we are going to be investigating all sorts of things including tastes and textures of foods. Can you try any new foods at home? If you do, take a picture and bring it in!
Don't forget to fill in your 'Inside my tummy' booklet and bring them back to school by Friday!
So our new topic begins! We are starting with a 'Healthy Snack Bar' in the hall on Monday. Remember to ask the children what they had to eat and drink!
Welcome back after the holiday! We are also excited to welcome some new children to the morning session. This term our topic is called 'Why can't I have chocolate for breakfast?' We will be doing lots of interesting activities at school and there will be one or two to do at home! We can't wait to get started!
All of the staff in the nursery would like to thank you for the cards and gifts received for Christmas. We felt quite overwhelmed by your kindness and it was very much appreciated. We are looking forward to beginning a new term. See you tomorrow!
This week it is our Nativity Play. We have been working very hard so we hope you enjoy watching us perform.

This week we are finishing our 'Why do leaves go crispy?' topic. On Wednesday we look forward to welcoming parents/careres to celebrate our learning. (9-10 for morning nursery and 12.45-1.45 for afternoon nursery). Please come along!
This week you will find some of these objects in the nursery. I wonder what you will be doing with them? Can you spot the animal you will be learning about too? What will you find out? Perhaps the animal will need some help? Don't forget to tell the grown ups at home about your discoveries!

This week we are following up our trip with some work around things we found! We will be measuring with sticks and comparing sizes as well as using all the autumnal features outside to make a film! For the next few weeks our learning will be based on our trip to Idle Valley on Tuesday! This week we are going to be looking closely at leaves and making woodland art. We will also be doing some writing about our trip. What will we be able to remember? What will we find? What will we see? Here are some pictures to help jog your memories. This is the final week of our 'Why do you love me so much?' topic. This week we are learning about team work! All of our activities will need us to be able to work with others, asking for and offering help. Please encourage these skills at home too - it could be setting the table for tea while you cook it, helping to make a bed, building a train track together or playing a game. Keep an eye out for photos of our 'team work' activities as the week progresses! Our book this week is 'You're All My Favourites'.
This week we will be talking about our most favourite teddy bear. Perhaps you could tell your child about a favourite teddy bear you had as a child. Why was it so special? Who gave it to you? Have you still got the bear? We will also be reading some books about bears including 'This is the Bear'.
We are looking at our local environment this week. Can you spot any of these things on your way to school?
We really enjoyed our visit from Mrs Smith and Benjamin last week....what a great way to begin our topic! This week we will be looking at 2 fantastic stories. If you have them at home please read them as well, if not perhaps you could borrow them from the library in Retford! Happy reading!

As well as preparing for our trip on Thursday we are looking at 'Treasure, Pirates, Sea , Sun and Sand' this week. Please look at the story board below....you will probably recognise the story.....although I'm sure you will spot a few differences!!!
This week is 'Transition Week'. Some of us are going to check out the Reception class ready for September. The rest of us will be meeting some new children who will be starting the Nursery in September! Exciting stuff!
It is also our 'Stay & Play' on Thursday and you will be able to look at your Learning Journals with your parents and carers!
We will be finishing off our 'Dragons & Castles' topic and preparing to start our final topic of the Year which is all about 'Sea, Sand & Pirates!' Here are some links to give you a few ideas before we start!
We are continuing with our 'Dragons and Castles' topic and our focus this week is 'Shiny Things'. Have you got any shiny things you could bring in for us to look at? I have put some pictures here to give you some ideas!
You might find some dragons around nursery this week! You will have to look carefully and make sure that as 'Nursery Knights' you take your shields and swords wherever you go!
This week we are doing a mini topic on colour! Do you know 'I can Sing a Rainbow'? We will be learning it at school but here if you click on 'I can sing a Rainbow above you can practise at home!
You can also have a go at this game. Have fun mixing all those colours!
